Front-end Engineer (Lead Engineer)

Description

You will primarily drive front-end technical decision-making and implementation that impacts the business and organization.

You will lead the front-end development team to create high-quality systems.

Front-end development using blockchain technology differs from standard back-end API integration processes in that it sometimes directly invokes blockchain logic (smart contracts). In these cases, numerous front-end innovations, such as business logic-like processing and caching, are required.

We are looking for a leader who will develop store and component strategies based on React development and promote development while instilling them in the team.

Datachain has two business domains: toC and toB. Both are financial, meaning mistakes are not tolerated. In addition to standard front-end implementation, such as easy-to-understand screen layouts, an easy-to-use UI, and the ability to handle blockchain-specific logic, we also require user-friendly implementation that takes into account blockchain's unique characteristics.

We are looking for a front-end engineer who can systematize complex business processes and develop optimal development strategies in the absence of best practices, all while keeping up with new technologies.

Knowledge of blockchain is not required. We are looking for a candidate with the ability to keep up with new technologies, a thorough understanding of the problem areas and advantages and disadvantages behind the technology, and the fundamental technical skills to master it.

Specific Duties

Provide technical leadership to maximize team results.

By working beyond technology, rather than focusing solely on the technology itself, we ensure that the team is able to use the technology optimally.

Implementation Skills - Ability to resolve technical bottlenecks, implementation speed, and handling non-functional requirements

Design Skills - Quality and architecture, technology selection, and proposing trade-offs between business realization and technology

Internal Team Activities - Raising team members' capabilities, supporting their performance, and fostering a highly proactive team

External Team Activities - Collaborating with other departments, achieving major results and resolving issues beyond the team

Business Commitment - Clarifying estimates and schedule risks, and the mindset and skills to see things through

Creating Systems and Culture - Communicating technology, sharing knowledge, building development processes, and a long-term value creation perspective

Business

In the future, it is expected that all assets in the world will be digitized. While efforts to develop digital money for credit cards, points, and smartphone payments have already begun, the digitization of real-world assets (RWAs), including stocks, bonds, derivatives, and real estate-value-backed assets-is also progressing.

As the search for the optimal technology to manage information on these important assets continues, blockchain is finally entering the practical application phase. Overseas banks are adapting the technology to their in-house systems, using it for payments worth hundreds of billions of yen. There are also examples of governments issuing cash as digital money and using blockchain to manage national systems.

Amid signs of major changes in the financial system, on September 5, 2024, we launched "Project Pax," a cross-border remittance infrastructure project in collaboration with the international organization Swift and three major Japanese banks. We aim to establish a new international remittance platform with the world's first legally compliant stablecoin that can be used by banks.

Technology

Since its founding in 2018, Datachain has been a truly tech-driven company, conducting R&D with the goal of creating a "de facto infrastructure" through "global x deep tech" from Japan. This accumulation of technology has led to the current opportunity. However, given the market's potential impact, competition is expected to intensify in the future.
