Overview
Note: During the onboarding period for new engineers (1-2 months), we ask team members to work from the office at least three days a week.
Responsibilities
- Management and mentoring of the engineering team
- Leading a multinational engineering team, bridging cultural and linguistic gaps
- Developing new products and designing technical architecture using Generative AI/LLM
- Designing and proposing AI solutions based on client challenges
- Improving development processes and establishing quality management systems
- Driving projects in collaboration with engineers, product managers, and data scientists
Required Skills
- 5+ years of development experience (including web/system development and architecture design)
- Experience managing a multinational team or mentoring junior engineers
- Experience with Generative AI (professional or personal use)
- Japanese language communication skills (Business level or higher)
Preferred Skills
- While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.
- Practical experience in developing and operating products using LLM / Generative AI
- Experience improving business efficiency using AI development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Devin)
- Experience in launching and scaling an engineering organization
- Experience in contributing to technology and business strategy
Hiring Process

About Spike Studio
As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring our multinational development team and leading its projects. Using both Japanese and English, you will lead a diverse team of engineers from countries such as Australia, the Philippines, India, and Mongolia to ensure they function smoothly and effectively.
Our development projects are primarily B2B. You will plan, implement, and operate AI agents capable of performing various tasks for corporate clients.
