Required Skills
- Experience: 9+ years in web application development, with a track record of owning technical strategy for a product line or business unit.
- Scale: Experience managing or technically leading a large organization (proven capability to influence 30+ engineers through architecture and standards).
- Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate new product features against market trends and provide feedback on the product roadmap that influences business direction.
- Conflict Resolution: Proven ability to facilitate productive outcomes in high-pressure situations involving conflicting stakeholder interests.
- Expertise Recognition: Deep expertise in a specific domain (e.g., Distributed Systems, Rust, or Data Engineering) that is recognized as a resource across the company.
- Not required to meet all of the above, experience in at least one area is sufficient.
- Fluent in English, able to understand complex, context-heavy discussions and collaborate effectively with a multicultural English speaking team.
Preferred Skills
- Development experience in a Docker-native infrastructure environment - strongly preferred
- Backend development and operation experience for web applications using statically typed languages - strongly preferred
- Experience selecting programming languages, frameworks, and libraries by evaluating pros and cons from both technical and business perspectives
- Experience developing services that include asynchronous jobs, particularly with designing and building the job infrastructure from scratch.
- Proven ability to drive solutions to development productivity challenges through technical leadership, including: establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (especially around Docker), defining and supporting coding standards
- Full Stack Development experience (ideally with React.js).
- Hands-on experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in complex business domains
- Designed, developed, and maintained microservices architecture in a distributed environment
- Built secure web applications with a strong awareness of modern security best practices
- Successfully led and completed projects involving multiple stakeholders.

- Salary
- Initial annual salary is estimated to be in the range of 10 million to 14 million yen.
- Salary reviews will be conducted twice a year.
- The annual salary will be divided into 12 equal monthly payments.

Job Responsibilities
Multi-Team Architecture: Develop and design high-level architectural concepts that span multiple products or teams. Ensure long-term technical debt is managed across the division.
Strategic Alignment: Build the Technology Division's strategy into actionable team roadmaps. Align the team's technical choices with the company's marketplace positioning.
Organizational Improvement: Identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks that exist between teams. This includes structuring cross-team delivery flows and improving inter-departmental collaboration.
Technical & Product Strategy: Define and strategize resource requirements of tech stack for new product launches, actively driving hiring initiatives and leading 'Buy vs. Build' evaluations to optimize the company's bottom line.
Culture Engineering: Fosters an environment of psychological safety and radical transparency. Actively mentors other engineers and builds a culture and peer feedback.
